John’s Jet Jamboree and Strato Blaster
Joe Hass (email: firstname.lastname@example.org) flew his Estes Strato Blaster as the noon entertainment during the Pontiac Miniature Aircraft Club’s annual jet fly on May 24, 2015,
in White Lake, Michigan.
The event, called John’s Jet Jamboree, is held in honor of
Carl and Beth Goldberg Vital People Award winner John
Hoover. John is a local prize-winning designer and retailer at
Aspect Aviation and Flightline Hobby.
Joe noted that the Strato Blaster has a 343/4-inch wingspan,
a length of 32 inches, and weighs 18 ounces ready to launch.
It is powered by an Aerotech RMS-24/40 reloadable motor
system with an F- 24 solid propellant generating approximately
9 pounds of thrust at ignition.
It is flown using a Tactic TTX650 transmitter and TR624
receiver with a four-cell 250 mAh NiCd battery for the radio
system. After the engine burn, the Strato Blaster is capable of
rolls, Split-S maneuvers, and loops during the glide back to
