BMJR Models, Box 1210, Sharpes
FL 32959; Tel.: (321) 537-1159;
The Electron was designed by Norm
Rosenstock in 1949 and was the first RC
model to be published in Flying Models
magazine in December 1950. Norm’s
model had a 60-inch wingspan and 10-
inch chord and was powered by a 2.5cc
Annco diesel engine. The airplane was
restored in March 2016 and donated
to the AMA’s National Model Aviation
Museum in Muncie, Indiana.
Based on Norm’s aircraft, BMJR
developed the 46-inch wingspan Electron
kit as a 3/4-scale replica with 333 square
inches of wing area and a flying weight
of 241/2 ounces. Powered by a 3S 1,000
mAh LiPo battery, it is the perfect size for
an electric-powered Vintage RC model.
