Desert monsoon flying
Martin Jones ( email@example.com) submitted several photos that he took the evening of August 30, 2015, of a rapidly approaching desert monsoon
at the Sun Valley Fliers field in North Phoenix, Arizona.
This one was our favorite. Martin wrote:
“My friends and I were out flying at sunset like we always
do during the summer, when a massive storm moving
up from the south with spectacular colors caught our
attention. We continued to fly in front of it, as it made an
impressive natural backdrop to a fun-filled evening with
Martin and his friends were flying QQ Extra 300s from
Flex Innovations. He noted that the aircraft were all electric-powered and controlled by Spektrum DX9s.
“I used my trusty Samsung Galaxy S5 [cellphone] to
capture the scene at our field,” he said. Settings included an
f-stop of f/2.2 and ISO of 50, at 1/60 second.
